PROGRAMME

“Grape harvest”

When: September-October
Where: Vineyard and winery.

We offer a hands-on experience of the process of wine-making. The children pick grapes from the vine and press them in the winery in the traditional way. They are shown the workings of the modern winery, the barrels in our cellar and how the wine is bottled and labeled ready for the market.

“Olive Harvest”

When: November-December
Where: Olive grove and Garden

The children participate in the traditional gathering of the olives. Through theatrical and interactive play, they learn about the tree as a mythological symbol, the historical importance of the olive tree, its cultivation and its numerous products that we still enjoy today.

“Winter Wildlife”

When: December-February
Where: Olive grove, Petting farm, Forest, Garden

The children learn how animals survive through winter when food is scarce, water freezes and snow falls. Through interactive play and making simple objects, the children learn how we can help our local wildlife in winter.

Spring Garden”

When: March-June
Where: Olive grove, Vineyard, Vegetable garden

The children embark on a scavenger hunt, gathering tools to plant a “happy garden”. Having discovered what a garden needs to grow, they make their own miniature gardens to take back to school.

“5 Senses in Nature”

When: All year round
Where: Olive grove; Petting farm; Vegetable garden; Children’s garden

Designed especially for children in nursery and kindergarten, this program takes the children on a journey to discover their five senses. Starting at the beehives we explore sight from the perspective of an insect and, moving from station to station, we experience each of our senses, ending with taste in the vegetable garden.

“A Day on The Farm”

When: All year round
Where: Farm

The children become farm helpers for the day. They feed the animals, collect ripe vegetables and plant seasonal seeds in the garden. They discover where oil and honey come from and how the insects and creatures we see are farm helpers too. The day ends with a picnic in the children’s garden.
